Public Speaking: I have always been very outgoing and I love attention. It is easy for me to speak in front of other people; I really enjoy it. I grew up being in talent shows, plays, and singing in the church choir, therefore I have gotten over the really bad phase of being nervous when standing and sharing something in front of others. Public speaking skills are important to have in leadership because to speak to followers and communicate with others, one must be able to effectively communicate and reach across vast ranges of people.
Caring for Others: The Golden Rule has always been very important to me. It is so essential to treat others the way you want to be treated, so I always try to be as kind and helpful to others as I can. I have been excluded before and it is an awful feeling, that’s why it is my goal to always help people see they are important and cared for. Caring for others is important not only in leadership, but in life in general because one can never have too many friends. Life is more enjoyable when the ability to work with others is enjoyable because there is a sense of acceptance and belonging.
Encouraging: I’m a very positive and outgoing person and I love to help others feel good about themselves. I love to encourage others to pursue their goals and always try to chase their dreams. The worst that could happen is that failure happens and they try again. I have many aspirations and dreams, and when I have a support system to back me up I feel more confident and invincible. Encouraging others is important because if people have support, they are more likely to pursue their goals and achieve them. Greatness is in all of us, sometimes we just need a little nudge.
